Helping Hands

This photo was taken when we visit the home of one of the pupils of Jaycon Elementary School at Brgy. Libot, Calinog,Iloilo.  The family of the child that we visited was identified as one of the indigenous people in their community. We went there because we want to observe what kind of living they have there at Calinog. We wanted to know what their means of living are. You will really pity them for their situation because they do not have something to cook that night but we brought a little help for them. We gave them can foods and rice to be their meal that night.
It was really a great experience that we visited there. Though they have nothing still the parents see to it that their children went to school and their reason why they left the mountain because they want their children to have a good education.  They will do everything for their children and although they don’t have a permanent work they strive very hard for the sake of the children. For what I have observed, “Poverty is not a hindrance to have a good education if you will only pursue for it.”

We had our post immersion at the Jaycon Elementary School at Brgy. Libot, Calinog, Iloilo. We went back there to visit the project that we have started, the garden that to be planted by different kinds of vegetables. It is for the people around the community to be the beneficiary of the said garden. The major purpose of the garden is to give the people a source of living when they do not have something and of course it will also serve as the source of their foods. They will not worry anymore what to eat if they do not have money to buy their foods and the vegetables that they will get can help the children as well have the parents because those foods are very nutritious.
We enjoyed a lot what we were doing. We were cultivating the garden to be planted. Everyone was there to help.
