Community Immersion

Jaycon Elementary School

This image was taken during our community immersion at Jaycon Elementary School, Brgy., Libot Calinog, Iloilo.

We arrived there last January 7, 2013, Sunday. On the next day Jan. 8, We went to the respective classroom where we were assigned and we were in-charge at grade 1. We observe their class, the behavior of students, the interactions inside the room and the way the teacher teaches. At night we made lesson plans and prepared the instructional materials for tomorrow we are going to handle classes. Morning came, Jan. 9, I woke up early to prepare myself  in going to our class. But after our breakfast Prof. Marivic Vioeta, Our instructor, called me and said that I will be in-charge at the school library. I felt disappointed but I have no choiceI have to follow her..heheh and I stayed there at LRC for almost 1 week.

It can be seen here in the picture how much the students love me…hehe… they stop me when I am going out since this was our last day and I just went there to bid farewell.

This picture was taken during our post immersion.

We went back there to follow-up the things that we made last January. We were happy that the students are coming at the LRC that we have donated. On Sunday, we went to the school garden and we cultivated the plots. We prepare them so that the people in their community would have place where they can plant. After we finished cultivating the plot that we prepared for the people we took rest and we took pictures for our remembrance.
