welcome to Jaycon

From the main gate of West Visayas State University, we are assembled at 1 0’clock in the afternoon, dated January 6, 2013 for our departure going to Jaycon Elementary School, Brgy. Libot, Calinog, Iloilo, where we held our Community Immersion. We hired a jeepney to get there and jeepney is one of the means of transportation in the town of Calinog.
Finally, we are here at Jaycon Elementary School where we stay for 5 days. Our jeepney stopped in front of the school. As we arrived, everybody could not move actively maybe because we are tired of almost 2 hours of travel. Some were cultured shocked and others were amazed of the place. It is a new environment for everyone.

Monday morning, date January 7, 2013, it is our first day to be engaged in Jaycon Elementary School. The morning seems bright, colorful and full of excitement. To wake up very early in the morning like 4:30 AM is not the usual thing I do every day of my life. But because we are in the Immersion, it must and we should wake up early. At early 6:00 AM, there are already students coming in school.
The first day started, Jaycon Elementary School held a flag ceremony and an exercise afterward. After that, we are introduced to the students by their principal, Ma’am Marilou Gelilang. Students and faculty and staff accepted us with a warm welcome and a big applause. Everyone was shocked because of the new faces they saw.
